Let's make espresso cups!

As part of Helsinki Design Week we want to offer a free small ceramics workshop, where each one of the participants learn how to make 1-2 espresso coffee cups by hand from clay.

Friday 6.9.2024 - first day of Helsinki Design Week 
Group 1:  17:30-18:30 


WHERE?
STUDIO SAVILLA ceramics studio:
Merimiehenkatu 23, Punavuori, Helsinki



At the workshop you will learn how to make an espresso cup out of clay.
Our ceramics teacher Aura Latva-Somppi will teach you the pinching technique. 
You will be given two clay options of two different colors; a recycled clay and a Finnish clay.
Max participants: 10 participants /group.

When cups are done, they will be left at the studio to dry. We will later on glaze and fire them in the kiln. The whole ceramics process takes 3-4 weeks. You will be able to come get your own espresso cups once they are glazed and ready in 2-3 weeks from the workshop. Specific date and time will be informed later.

If you have a breathing illness like astma, please note that there is always a little bit of dust in the studio as clay creates dust.
